[edit] Bootloader

[edit] Enter Into Bootloader

<Enter into bootloader instructions>

[edit] Soft Reset

  1. Remove the battery
  2. Reinsert the battery
  3. Power-on the device
  4. Pray you haven't lost any data

[edit] Hard Reset

  1. Read these instructions through before resetting your device
  2. Place an SD card into the slot, it gives you a few extra seconds to press the right buttons later on.
  3. Remove the phone's battery, wait 5 seconds, then replace it.
  4. With one finger, hold down the Voice Memo Record button (button underneath the power button)
  5. With the Memo button still held down, press the power button until the screen lights up
  6. You can let go of both buttons now
  7. The display will read "Card Found" for a few seconds
  8. With these few seconds, hold down the Action button (in the middle of the 4-way D-pad)
  9. Whilst you press the Action button, the device will read "Press any key to enter boot loader" or "Press action button to enter diag mode"
  10. If after this, you're presented with a display of Red, Green, and Blue, then it means you haven't pressed the Action button in the right time-frame. Experiment. It took me 4 times to get it right.
  11. Once you've got a menu on the screen, it should have only one item "Erase IPSM" (as menu item 8), press the 8 key or use the d-pad to get to it.
  12. Wait for it to complete.
  13. Once it says "Passed" in the bottom left you can remove and reinsert the battery to boot up to a fresh device.
  14. Windows will take longer than usual to boot up, then it will perform a series of checks. Don't press "OK" until the device reads "Check PASS. Press OK to restart the device"
